Recently reported in Yahoo News and the Washington Times, new developments in stem cell technology may produce new techniques in Los Angeles breast augmentation. While many procedures rely on Los Angeles breast implants, like silicone, saline, or the new gel “Gummy Bear” implants, scientists now have a way to grow new tissues using a patient’s own stem cells. These procedures have gained much popularity in the past decade, however we are all familiar with certain drawbacks of the procedures. Most Los Angeles cosmetic surgery procedures like breast augmentation, liposuction, tummy tucks, etc. are invasive and complicated procedures. They mostly all require anesthesia, healing time, and the possibility of looking unnatural, or wearing down over time. Stem cells, on the other hand, have the ability to multiply and differentiate into many different types of cells, including fat, tissues, bone, muscle, organs, even neurons. By harvesting stem cells from the patients own bone marrow or fat tissues, growing more and coaxing them into becoming certain tissue types, when injected, they could create small portions of the patient’s own natural tissue as say, a natural breast implant. No cutting, no anesthesia, completely “biocompatible.” If research and development of stem cells continue, though now limited to outside the U.S., many a Los Angeles cosmetic surgeon may be finding a new calling.
