Many a Los Angeles plastic surgeon join in paying tribute to Martin Kelley, one of Britain’s leading cosmetic surgeons, who died of a heart attack in his west London home. He was known as the “king of rhinoplasty” in celebrity circles, and was married to well-known actress Natascha McElhone, currently pregnant with the couple’s third child. Several doctors in Britain and America have commented on the tragedy of losing such a gifted and respected surgeon. British celebrities, cosmetic surgeons and Los Angeles rhinoplasty experts agree, his work was marvelous, and it is such a misfortune that his career ended so early. There has always been a welcomed and hearty exchange of ideas between London and Los Angeles cosmetic surgery, as both cities are at the epicenters of the industry. The loss has definitely been felt across seas. Friends and family of the doctor commented on his talents outside of the operating room as well. A close friend said, "As well as being a brilliant doctor, he painted, wrote his own music [and was] a great sportsman. He was just terrific and a true Renaissance man." Los Angeles tummy tuck experts have also marveled at Dr. Kelley’s work, saying, "He was one of the most capable plastic surgeons Britain has ever produced."
